Yesterday I had a conference with all of
Ashelyn's teachers...yes, she has many. They are now beginning to think that her delays and problems are due to her lack of Oxygen at birth
because her
APGAR was only a 1 at one minute and she needed intervention to begin breathing on her own. Had they just laid her on the table, she would have died. Although she wasn't without Oxygen for long...she started to breath on her own...they think she was without it long enough to be causing the problems she is having right now because no matter how much you teach her certain things, she just cannot seem to grasp them. The letter m and the number 3 which I did point out to the teacher that the letter m and the number 3 look similar, if you turn the 3 to the left, it looks like an m...
idk, just stupid thinking on my part I guess. Anyway, *I* feel horrible and I feel like it's my fault in some way because I only pushed for 9 minutes and the midwife said she came down and out VERY quickly and the shock of that is what likely caused her low
APGAR score, so I just think that if I had been more patient and took longer to push, she'd be fine :-(
