About Me

Hi, my name is Michelle. I'm a single mother to Andrew (10) and Ashelyn (6). I completed college in December of 2007 obtaining a degree in Chemical Dependency Counseling. I'm currently in a very new relationship with a wonderful man. My goal is to go back to college and earn my Bachelor's in Social Work; possibly my Master's. I would also love to get my CASAC (credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor) someday. I'm discovering a new happiness in my life and the only thing I'm waiting for is to find a job so I can continue my career. I love my field of work and enjoy every minute of it. The rest you can find on my "complete profile". Any questions, feel free to ask :-)

Traffic court today...

So, at the advice of someone else I went to court today ready to plead not guilty and ask for an adjournment and a court appointed attorney. Didn't even have to. The officer from the accident came to me while i was sitting there in court and pulled me outside and asked me if I wanted to adjourn, plead guilty, or have him "knock it down" (his words), so I asked him what he meant by "knock it down"....reduced to what???? He said the least thing it could be reduced to was parking on the highway. So I said okay, go with that. He gave the recommendation to the DA and the DA asked me a few details and then stood up there with me when my name was called and explained that there had been a traffic accident with no bodily harm/injury and that he was asking for it to be reduced to parking on the highway. The judge agreed and asked me what I pleaded to 'parking on the highway' and I said, "guilty". Got away with a fine of $100. Now, generally I'm one who says, "throw the book at them" when someone has done something, but you must realize that I'm usually saying this when we are talking about DUI/DWI charges. So, no, I don't think I'm just someone special who deserves special treatment.
