About Me

Hi, my name is Michelle. I'm a single mother to Andrew (10) and Ashelyn (6). I completed college in December of 2007 obtaining a degree in Chemical Dependency Counseling. I'm currently in a very new relationship with a wonderful man. My goal is to go back to college and earn my Bachelor's in Social Work; possibly my Master's. I would also love to get my CASAC (credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor) someday. I'm discovering a new happiness in my life and the only thing I'm waiting for is to find a job so I can continue my career. I love my field of work and enjoy every minute of it. The rest you can find on my "complete profile". Any questions, feel free to ask :-)

I love it

So far, I love my new job. Even though they are extended shifts, the hours fly by pretty quickly. I'm always doing at least two things at one time, lol. But, I enjoy it. I feel like I'm helping to make a difference in these individual's lives. They appreciate such "little things" as making them pancakes for breakfast, or sitting and watching a movie with them because no one did that at home with them. Some of them just like to sit and be heard. Their stories are sad, very sad, but I feel like I can help make a difference and that makes me feel good. I'm only on day two (yesterday was my 2nd day) so I am sure I have yet to come across some of the "troubles" that I have been warned about. I did happen to make three enemies in my first night there, but they were fine with me the next day. I was quite concerned about doing this job, but I really do like it so far. And the staff is excellent. There's no petty crap and talking about co workers behind their backs...yet anyway, lol. Most of my mother jobs have been nothing but drama, drama, drama. I like this environment. I work 9a-9p tomorrow so we'll see how my first weekend day goes when the girls are home ALL day! But then I have Sunday and Monday off, so it's all good :-)
